Is learning ever achieved?

Here at Chris Quigley Education we don’t believe that lessons are an event in themselves – an event in which learning can be ‘achieved’. Instead, we think that lessons are part of a journey in which learning can be ‘advanced’.

That’s why, in our Essentials Curriculum, the learning objectives are common to all year groups. That makes them repeatable thousands of times, each time advancing – or nudging- them forward just a bit more. The Milestones help you to see if pupils are making progress within each learning objective.

We think it is time to stop using the word achieved as it seems so final. Instead, let’s focus on how well pupils understand things.
