Changes to Inspection
The majority of schools we work with are good schools. They are on the journey form Good to Great. One of our great beliefs here at Chris Quigley education is that all schools can be great. Our new course ‘Making Good Teaching Great’ is designed for all primary teachers or school leaders on the journey from Good teaching to GREAT teaching.
The course will include:
- How to keep a close focus on learning, including a simple but highly effective definition of what we mean by learning.
- How to promote children’s creative thinking and problem solving skills.
- How to get children to understand how to review their own work.
- How to get the balance of learning right so that children make outstanding progress.
- How to focus on ‘learning to learn’ skills in every lesson.
- How to get the most out of children so they are highly productive in lessons.
- How to ensure basic skills are applied well in every lesson.
- How to promote the Every Child Matters agenda in every lesson.
- How to assess children in a formative way so that the rate of progress over time is maximized.
- How to improve standards for the most able children.
Benefits of attending:
- Be inspired to improve your teaching through practical and realistic ways to improve learning.
- A basic resource pack will be given out during the course with an option to buy training materials for use back at school.
- A chance to reflect on how far along the path from good to great you or your teachers are.
- A framework for lesson observation for those in a leadership capacity.
